Eid ul-Fitr is the holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the ninth month on the Islamic lunar calendar.
Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity” and Fitr means “to break the fast.” The holiday symbolizes the breaking of the Ramadaan fasting period. The celebration begins on the first day of the 10th Islamic month of Shawwal.
Taqabbala Allaahu minna wa minkum (May Allaah accept from us and from you.)
To you and your family we send you greetings of a very blessed Eid ul-Fitr 1437.
They ask you (O Muhammad [PBUH]) what they should spend. Say: “Whatever you spend of good must be for parents and kindred and orphans and Al-Masaakeen (the poor) and the wayfarer, and whatever you do of good deeds, truly, Allaah knows it well.” 2:215
الله أكبر الله أكبر الله أكبر
لا إله إلا الله
الله أكبر الله أكبر ولله الحمد.
Allaahu Akbaru Allaahu Akbaru Allaahu Akbaru
Laa ilaha ilallaah
Allaahu Akbaru Allaahu Akbaru wa ;lillaahi l-Hamd.
Allaah (God) is the Most Great (3 times)
There is no god but Allaah.
Allaah is the Most Great (2 times)
And to Allaah be the praise
In light of the recent bombings in Medina, KSA and elsewhere I would like to say:
Select your source of information carefully. Islam is the (peaceful) submission, to the Laws of God the Almighty.
It is our collective and individual responsibility to verify information that comes to us and not allow ourselves to be led by those whose agenda is to keep you ill-informed and ignorant.
O you who believe! If a Faasiq (liar – evil) person comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done. 49:6
Ramadaan, the 9th month on the Islamic calendar, has left us and insha’Allaah we will live to see another. Ramadaan, which is often mischaracterized as a “holy” month in Islam, is a time when Muslims try to become better versions of themselves by abstaining from food and drink from the break of dawn to dusk. A person who describes Ramadaan as a “holy” month in Islam is ignorant of the Religion.
Verily, the number of months with Allaah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allaah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are created Sacred (i.e. the 1st, Muharram, the 7th, Rajab, the 11th, Dhu al-Qa`dah, and the 12th Dhu al-Hijjah, of the Islamic calendar). 9:36
Conflating Islam with terrorism is a misrepresentation of the Religion of al-Islam. Those who commit atrocities are imposters to This Way of Life and those who claim that they are Muslims, deliberately mislead their audience.
